Grand Rapids Job Corps program to restart operations

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Programming will resume at the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps center in Grand Rapids, according to a state lawmaker, after a federal judge last week declared the U.S. Department of Labor’s efforts to wind down the program were illegal.

State Rep. Kristian Grant, D-Grand Rapids, held her monthly community coffee hour at the Job Corps’ Hall Street location today, and spoke to News 8 outside of the facility.

“I thought it was important to invite the community in to meet the Job Corps team and see the work that they do,” she explained.
