Can you light fireworks in Decatur, Hartselle, or Priceville? Here’s what you need to know

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — As July 4th approaches, Morgan County 911 is reminding residents about fireworks rules to ensure a safe holiday.

  • Decatur city limits: Fireworks are illegal (cannot shoot, sell, or possess). Party poppers, snappers, toy smoke devices, and non-explosive sparklers are allowed without a permit.
  • Outside Decatur city limits (Decatur Police Jurisdiction): Fireworks are legal.
  • Falkville: Fireworks are legal.
  • Morgan County (unincorporated areas): Fireworks are legal.
  • Priceville: Fireworks are legal.
  • Hartselle city limits: Fireworks are illegal.
  • Trinity: Fireworks are legal daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. On July 3 & 4, fireworks are legal until midnight….
