Mother reacts after arrest of suspect in daughter’s death 16 years ago

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — After nearly 17 years of unanswered questions, heartbreak, and hope, the family of Danick Adams is one step closer to justice.

On Monday, the Jacksonville Police Department announced the arrest of Lavelle Demario Calvin in Memphis for the 2008 killing of 18-year-old Danick Adams. She was fatally shot during a robbery while walking with a friend outside a gym on Aug. 15, 2008.

Police say the case went cold for years, but was never forgotten.
