NEWARK, Del. — A Wilmington woman is in custody following an early morning disturbance involving a firearm at a Newark restaurant.
Officials said on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at approximately 1:03 a.m., Newark Police officers responded to a report of a physical altercation involving a firearm at a restaurant located in the 800 block of South College Avenue. Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and identified 28-year-old Deja Thompson of Wilmington as the primary suspect.
According to police, Thompson became engaged in an argument with another individual inside the restaurant, during which she physically grabbed the person by the neck.
