CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Enjoy the warm but decent early July weather we have in store, as it only sticks around for a bit.

The rest of your Tuesday looks exceptionally quiet, save for a few pop-up puffy cumulus clouds throughout the afternoon. Temperatures will be warm, but dew points stay in the low to mid 60s. That’s still somewhat noticeable, humidity-wise, but is far from how muggy it can be this time of year. Highs will be in the mid 80s for most.

Tonight follows a similar path to last night, with lows in the low to mid 60s. Wednesday gets a small boost in temperatures from a slight southerly component to our winds. This pushes many areas into the upper 80s, but we still won’t see a big surge in dew points just yet.

That influx of moisture comes by Wednesday night into Thursday, and a bit of shower and storm activity may accompany this transition. The chance arrives after dark on Wednesday evening, potentially lasting in a scattered fashion through the first couple of hours after daybreak on Thursday…
