Jacksonville police make arrest in a 16-year-old cold case

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – Jacksonville police announced Monday afternoon that an arrest has been made in connection with a 2008 homicide investigation.

Police said they have arrested Lavelle Demario Calvin in Memphis in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Danick Marie Adams.

Mother reflects on daughters murder, still searching for answers 12 years later

On August 15, 2008, Adams was walking outside Ultimate Fitness in Jacksonville with a friend. Officials said a man approached the pair demanding money, phones and car keys.

Officials said Adams was shot several times during the robbery.

Police Chief Brett Hibbs recognized Detective Cindy Harbour for her work on the case. Harbour was the original investigator, but had retired, the chief said; however, she joined the department’s auxiliary so she could continue to work on the case…
