WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The City of Wichita remains under a Stage 2 drought.
The city has two sources of water: the Equus Beds Aquifer and the Cheney Reservoir.
However, Cheney Reservoir is currently at 97.56% full, according to the latest data from the city. The reservoir is just .39 feet below normal, about 4.68 inches below full. While that may seem like a small amount of water, that comes out to around 1.21 billion gallons of water.
