ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With July 4th quickly approaching, Bernalillo County Fire Rescue (BCFR) and Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) are reminding residents that some fireworks are good to use and other types are strictly prohibited within unincorporated Bernalillo County.
What’s open and closed on July 4 around New Mexico?
Fire officials say prohibited fireworks include anything that goes higher than ten-feet in the air, or goes outside of a six-foot circumference. Examples include, aerial shell kit reloadable tubes, aerial spinners, helicopters, mines, missile-type rockets, multiple tube devices, roman candles, shells, and stick-type rockets. Officials say in order to ensure fireworks are legal, use only fireworks purchased within Albuquerque or Bernalillo County limits.
