ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the men who was convicted in the deadly shooting of an 11-year-old outside Isotopes Park in 2023 received additional prison time as he was sentenced in a separate case involving a drug charge.

Romero was arrested in October 2023 in connection with the shooting that killed 11-year-old Froylan Villegas and left his cousin, Tatiana, paralyzed. During his arrest, police found fentanyl in his possession, which the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office said led to Tuesday’s sentencing.
