Los Padillas Aquatic Center to open before Fourth of July

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — A swimming pool in the South Valley will be open to the public ahead of the Fourth of July. The Los Padillas Aquatic Center is expected to reopen on Wednesday, July 2.

The yearly opening was delayed for about a month for upgrades including new pumps, plaster, lighting, leak repairs, and improvements to the chemical and filtration systems. The county says this will bring the pool up to modern standards while extending its life span.

Additionally, there will not be an admission charge for swimmers for the remainder of the season. “This is way to show our appreciation to our residents’ patience and understanding while we finished this project,” said District 2 Commissioner Frank Baca. “We’re honored to bring major improvements to the pool and splash pad in Los Padillas, ensuring they’re safe, welcoming, and ready for the community to enjoy.”…
