Newberg train trestle catches fire; Crews prevent flames from spreading

NEWBERG Ore. (KPTV) – A wooden train trestle caught fire early Sunday morning, but crews were able to prevent it from spreading to a nearby apartment complex, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 3 a.m., where they found the trestle engulfed in heavy flames.

They were able to contain the blaze from spreading beyond the trestle and before emergency evacuations of the apartment complex were necessary.

TVF&R is investigating the cause of the blaze. They say no injuries were reported as a result of the fire…
