Alaska Botanical Garden celebrates ‘Mud Day’

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Alaska Botanical Garden in Anchorage held an event for International Mud Day on June 27.

The event consisted of different stations that allowed children to play with mud in different ways, including jumping in it, creating art and making “muddy dwellings.”

“We’re taking inspiration from animals that use mud to create their homes and we’re building from mud, rocks, sticks, sawdust,” said Jasmine Redgrave, Anchorage Museum senior educator. “It’s kind of an engineering challenge based on nature-inspired design.”…
