SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) — The National Weather Service issued special statements Tuesday for both potential funnel clouds and waterspouts.
One statement was issued for areas in the western part of our coverage area like Port Clinton, and Sandusky. It states that atmospheric conditions favored the potential formation of “weak circulation” under showers and storms where a funnel cloud could develop.

“In rare occasions, these funnel clouds may briefly touch down,” it said. “Stay alert and be prepared to move to a safe shelter if a funnel cloud approaches the ground.”
Additionally, a special marine warning was issued for areas including Reno Beach to The Islands and The Islands to Vermilion for possible wind, hail and waterspouts…
