Charlottesville author urges community to ‘let go’ of anger in renewed violence prevention campaign

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A renewed effort in Charlottesville is hoping to reduce violence by urging community members to pay better attention to their anger and release it before things get out of hand.

Charlottesville author and educator Alex-Zan is relaunching his “Yo! Let It Go!”, or “YOGO” campaign because he says he has seen too many conflicts escalate, and he wants to give people the tools to help manage their emotions in a productive way.

“A lot of people, for various reasons, they’re pushed to the edge,” Alex-Zan said. “So, we’re trying to get people, just before they go over the edge, try to let it go.”…
