WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Crews are working on the finishing touches at Godwin Mercado, a new, year-round market facility opening soon in Wyoming.
Godwin Mercado at 301 36th St. near Buchanan Avenue features an outdoor plaza with room for food trucks, live music, seating and vendors, and an indoor space with garage doors for an open-air vendor space. A walking path connects it to the nearby neighborhood, and once complete there will be also be a bike repair station, a small play area and a mural from a local artist.

Project leaders will celebrate the opening of the facility later this summer with a free grand opening celebration on Aug. 16. There will be food trucks, local vendors, kids activities, live music and games, said Krashawn Martin, director of Parks and Recreation for city of Wyoming.
“We are really looking at that as huge community block party gift to the community,” Martin said. “We want to be able to be able to give an opportunity for people to see and feel the space and see some ways that it might be utilized during market season.”
It will host a holiday market with local vendors and the city’s annual Wrap Up Wyoming event this winter, and will officially open its farmers market in the spring of 2026. It will also host events like a kids vendor market, will bring back a flea market to Wyoming and will be available for rent for private events.
