INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Americans hitting the road this Fourth of July weekend will find something to celebrate even before the fireworks: lower gas prices.
National fuel prices are projected to average between $3.10 and $3.15 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. That’s down significantly from $3.49 a year ago and could mark the cheapest Independence Day at the pump since 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in a news release issued Monday, “If prices fall below $3.12, it would be the lowest for the holiday in five years.”…
