MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Fireworks are a highlight of Fourth of July celebrations for many, but they can also be dangerous when not used properly.

Last year, 11 people across the United States died due to fireworks-related accidents, including misuse, misfire and malfunctions.
Nearly 15,000 people had to go to the emergency room for firework injuries. More than 10% of those injuries were caused by sparklers, which are often considered harmless, but can still cause severe burns.
