Indiantown Council amends 17-year-old PUD

INDIANTOWN — The Village Council here got a stark reminder June 12 of the severity of its low water pressure problems when asked to amend a 17-year-old planned unit development agreement for a single-family home project near 150th Street and Shawnee Avenue, originally proposed as a second phase to the Sandy Oaks subdivision.

Because the PUD was approved by the Martin County Commission nearly a decade prior to Indiantown’s incorporation, Community and Economic Development Director Deana Freeman provided a brief history of the 157-unit project.

“Kendall Industrial LLC is seeking approval for the first amendment of the Osceola Pines PUD agreement,” she said. “Just to explain, this is a zoning agreement that includes a master site plan, a timetable for development, special conditions and some important documentation. This was approved on June 10, 2008. It’s quite an old PUD, but they did keep it alive in terms of timetables.”…
