City of Tallahassee
The City of Tallahassee will close administrative offices in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 4.
Following are details about the City’s Celebrate America event and schedule changes for the week of June 29 through July 5 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits, StarMetro, the Animal Service Center and City-run community centers.
Celebrate America at Tom Brown Park
The City’s Celebrate America event will take place at Tom Brown Park on Friday, July 4, from 6-10 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment from the School of Arts & Sciences rock band, Eleven O Five and The Funky Taters with Lili Forbes leading up to a spectacular, patriotic fireworks display at 9:50 p.m.
There will be food trucks and activities for children at the event. Attendees are also welcome to pack a picnic.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
During the holiday week, Friday residential customers will receive service one day later than their regularly scheduled service. This includes garbage/recycling and yard waste/bulky pickup, which will impact blue week customers:
- Monday customers ► No change
- Tuesday customers ► No change
- Wednesday customers ► No change
- Thursday customers ► No change
- Friday customers ► Saturday, July 5
