Dallas Animal Services Invites Volunteers to Comfort Shelter Dogs During Independence Day Fireworks

While the Fourth of July fireworks bring a burst of joy for many, our canine companions often feel differently. Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is hosting ‘Calming the Canines,’ a volunteer event that offers solace to shelter dogs amid the barrage of celebratory clamor. On July 4 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., community members are welcome at the DAS facility on 1818 N. Westmoreland Road to comfort dogs frightened by the evening’s noisy festivities.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring something comfortable to sit on, like a yoga mat or a folding chair, and spend time inside the shelter, but not inside the kennels.
