NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in New Orleans East and a separate shooting earlier this month on Morrison Road, police announced Monday.
Jerroy Johnson was arrested on June 26 in Slidell, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Johnson is accused of fatally shooting 43-year-old Ashley Aples on June 22 in the 5600 block of Morrison Road. Officers responded around 2:40 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing a man on the ground with possible gunshot wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Aples and said his preliminary cause of death was from gunshot-related injuries…
