St. Louis couple admits to attempted kidnapping and gun crimes

Two individuals have admitted to attempting to kidnap and rob a St. Louis apartment property manager at gunpoint in 2024, as well as committing a series of other firearm-related crimes during the same period.

Emma M. Cunningham, 32, entered a guilty plea Monday in U.S. District Court to charges of attempted kidnapping, unlawful transfer of a firearm to a convicted felon, and making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. Her co-defendant and boyfriend, 49-year-old Jervonz L. Williams, pleaded guilty on June 23 to attempted kidnapping, robbery, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, Cunningham admitted to purchasing a firearm on Feb. 20, 2024, for Williams, a convicted felon legally prohibited from owning firearms. She completed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Form 4473 falsely, claiming she was the buyer and denying any illegal drug use.
