ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Fire Department announced the death of one of its own Tuesday evening.
The department said that firefighter Lee Kraus—who had 27 years of experience—suffered a medical emergency while he was on duty on Sunday, June 29.
Despite the efforts of first responders and medical professionals, Kraus passed away on June 1.
“This is a heartbreaking loss for our department and our city,” said Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson. “Firefighter Kraus was a committed public servant who made the ultimate sacrifice inthe line of duty. Our thoughts are with his family, his brothers and sisters in the department, andall who knew him.”…
