Bossier City elected officials take oaths of office after big city council turnover

For the first time in decades, the Bossier City Council now is mostly fresh faces.

Bossier City’s mayor and council members took their oaths of office Tuesday morning at a ceremony in the Bossier Civic Center. While half those sworn in Tuesday are returning after a previous term, most of Bossier City’s council members are beginning their first term because its long-serving members have exited.

The turnover on the council follows years of atypical politics centered on the question — recently answered — of whether Bossier City elected officials should be term limited.
