Less than 3,000 still without power in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – City Utilities is more than 48 hours into the restoration event from Sunday evening’s storm.

The peak number of outages was around 37,000. Now, less than 3,000 are still without power.

“The tree damage, the winds causing the trees to fall on lines, that’s just Mother Nature for you,” said Jamie Presley with City Utilities. “Our hearts go out to our customers who perhaps have experienced a long outage on April 29th and are continuing to have another one.”…
