WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A D.C. man with multiple prior felony charges was charged once again Tuesday under the “Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful” initiative.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) of the District of Columbia said that 48-year-old Ronald Aiken of D.C. is facing federal charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.

Court documents state that on June 10, 2025, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were on patrol in the 1700 block of D St. NE after two shootings in the area. Officers saw a sedan without a front license plate driving the wrong way along a one-way street. Police stopped him and approached the driver, who was Aiken.
MPD officers reported seeing an open can of beer in the rear seat. When officers searched the bag that the beer was in, they found live ammunition. A further search revealed a gun wedged behind the back seat on the driver’s side…
