Riverpark in Eugene resolves $2M fraud allegations with reforms

PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon has announced a $2 million settlement with Riverpark Operations, LLC and its parent company, Avamere Group, LLC, to resolve allegations of violating the False Claims Act.

Federal court officials said that this settlement involves the Oregon Department of Justice Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and is part of the Department of Justice’s 2025 National Health Care Fraud Takedown. Riverpark, which operates a skilled nursing facility in Eugene, Oregon, allegedly billed Medicare and Oregon Medicaid for substandard services between November 2017 and July 2019. The facility reportedly failed to meet staffing requirements, resulting in increased medical issues for residents, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Federal court authorities said that Riverpark and Avamere have agreed to a five-year Quality-of-Care Corporate Integrity Agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General to improve care and safety…
