Josh Duggar’s Prison Sentence Extended, Moved to New Housing

Disgraced reality TV star Josh Duggar has had his prison sentence extended by two months, pushing his release date back to December 2032. Originally slated for release in October 2032, this is reportedly the second time Duggar’s release has been delayed. He was initially scheduled to be freed in August 2032.

Sources indicate this latest delay stems from a disciplinary action, although specific details remain undisclosed. This follows a previous incident in February 2023 where Duggar was found with a contraband cell phone, resulting in solitary confinement and an initial extension of his sentence.

Duggar has also been moved from his dormitory-style housing within the Seagoville Detention Center in Dallas, Texas. He previously enjoyed privileges such as access to a washer, dryer, and microwave. The reasons for his transfer remain unclear.

Duggar was convicted in December 2021 on charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse materials. He is currently serving a 12-year sentence, with additional penalties including fines, sex offender registration, and supervised release. He remains married to Anna Duggar, with whom he has seven children.
