Arrest Made in Hilltop Neighborhood Shooting, Columbus Man Charged with Murder

A somber mood hangs over the Hilltop neighborhood after a fatal shooting claimed one life last Saturday afternoon. Columbus Police have confirmed the arrest of 46-year-old Arnulfo Aguirre-Ramos in connection with the violence that erupted on the 200 block of South Eureka Avenue, as reported by WBNS. The arrest was made without incident Sunday morning, a day after the incident.

Authorities responded to a call at approximately 3:35 p.m. the day of the shooting, and the victim—who has yet to be publicly identified pending family notification—was transported to the hospital but pronounced dead by 4:08 p.m., as per details from a Columbus public safety dispatcher. Aguirre-Ramos faces charges of murder and is currently detained at the Franklin County Jail, NBC4i reports.
