Sober Ride Indiana offers discounts for Uber and Lyft rides during July 4 weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Sober Ride Indiana will offer $10 discounts on Uber and Lyft rides from Thursday through Monday to prevent impaired driving during the Fourth of July weekend.

The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute launched the initiative in 2020 to curb impaired driving around the holidays, providing vouchers for discounted rides in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. Up to 1,000 free credits are available each day and are valid for rides between 5 p.m. and 3 a.m. that begin or end in Indianapolis or Fort Wayne.

To redeem a ride credit, visit SoberRideIndiana.com and click “Redeem Ride Credits.” Follow the instructions for the selected rideshare service. Tips are not included in the discount, and users are responsible for any charges exceeding $10. Sober Rides cannot be reserved, and a pickup cannot be scheduled in advance. Possession of the code does not guarantee availability. Credits are available while supplies last and will reset each day…
