NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A growing group of Tennesseans says it’s time to take the tax off groceries.
The nonprofit advocacy group Tennessee for All has launched a petition urging lawmakers to eliminate the state’s grocery tax, arguing that while large corporations receive generous tax breaks, everyday residents are still struggling to afford basic necessities.
