Nashville homicide suspect arrested by U.S. Marshals in New York City

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) —Authorities have arrested a suspect months after a man was found dead in a motel near Nashville International Airport.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Omeed Yahya Esmail, 39, was taken into custody in New York City on Wednesday, July 2.

The 39-year-old’s arrest comes after 65-year-old Joseph Williams was found dead inside a bathroom at the Red Roof motel along Claridge Drive. He had been living at the motel for at least two months, police said.

Officers reportedly found Williams fully clothed and a piece of cloth over his face was removed by first responders, who then saw dried blood.
