House fire extinguished after lightning strike during storm

EAGLE ROCK, Va. (WSET) — A lightning strike during storms on Tuesday night left one house burned.

The Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire Department said their department was dispatched just before 7 p.m. for the report of a gas leak on Prices Bluff Road.

“It was stated that a lightning strike occurred, followed by an odor of gas and smoke in the residence,” ERVFD said. “Units arrived to find an area under a porch that had been burned by an ignited leak in the residential gas plumbing.”…
