Independence Day celebrations across the region, July 3, 4, & 5

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Independence Day is around the corner, and there are many celebrations across the region you and your family can attend.

Thursday, July 3 events:

  • Freedom Festival and Fireworks 2025– Roanoke
    • Location: River’s Edge North
    • 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
    • Fireworks will begin at 9:30
  • Bedford County Fireworks Show
    • Location: National D-Day Memorial grounds
    • Starts at 8:45 p.m.
  • Clifton Forge
    • Location: C&O Heritage Center Grounds
    • Starts at 6 p.m., and fireworks will be at dusk

Friday, July 4 events:

  • Four on the 4th – Vinton
    • Race begins at 8 a.m.
    • Location: Vinton War Memorial
  • Craig County Independence Day Parade
    • From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Location: Downtown New Castle, Main Street
  • Firework Displays
    • Christiansburg
      • Uptown Christiansburg Mall for viewing
      • Starts at 9:15 p.m.
    • Clifton Forge
      • Stars & Stripes Celebration
      • Location: Clifton Forge Downtown Market
      • Starts at 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Danville
      • Gates open at 6 p.m.
      • Location: Carrington Pavilion
    • Smith Mountain Lake
      • Paryway Marina
      • Gates open at 5 p.m.
    • Salem Fair
      • U.S. Marine fireworks show at 9:30
      • Location: Salem Civic Center
    • Danville Parks and Recreation 4th celebration
      • Starts at 6 p.m.
      • Location: Carrington Pavilion

Saturday, July 5 events:

  • Fireworks on the Riverfront- Lynchburg
    • Fireworks around 9 p.m.
