TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— An area of low pressure could develop near the Gulf coasts or the southeast U.S. Atlantic by this weekend, the National Hurricane Center said.
A tropical or subtropical depression could form over the weekend while the system moves.

The NHC said environmental conditions appear only slightly conducive for some slow development.
“The unsettled weather continues across the Florida peninsula with a front stalling out over the area. An area of low pressure could develop along it, enhancing the coverage of rain even more over the next few days. By the end of the week or over the weekend, the low pressure could develop some tropical characteristics. However, the forecast for the Tampa Bay area will remain the same. Several rounds of heavy rain are possible over the next five days, leading to 4-6 inches of rain to accumulate along the coast.
