On Tuesday, a house located at 1700 Tweed St., near Marshall Ave. in Rockville, was struck by lightning, prompting a response from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS). Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer reported that multiple units, including PE721, PE723, PE703, E705B, E718, AT723, PAT718, RS703, A721, BC704, and BC702, were dispatched to the scene off Twinbrook Parkway.
In a subsequent update, Piringer clarified that the lightning strike affected a two-story single-family home. Fortunately, the lightning caused little to no extension of fire into the house, resulting in moderate damage.
