PLANO, Texas — A mother and son duo from Plano will represent Texas at the World Transplant Games in Germany this summer. Now in its 25th iteration, the World Transplant games started in 1978 in Portsmouth, UK, and are a celebration of, and a means of awareness for those who have either had transplants or are in need of them.
Madeleine Harrison and her son Keegan will take part in the triathlon event when they get to Dresden, where the games are taking place. Though they participate in various triathlons and other sporting events, this one is close to their heart, literally.
“Keegan was born with a critical congenital heart defect,” Harrison said. “Which is called ‘tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia.’”…
