Fire at northeast Albuquerque aprtment complex displaces some residents

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a multi-story apartment complex in the northeast Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to the Copper Hills apartment complex near Montgomery and Tramway around 5:50 a.m. Firefighters reported seeing flames in a first-floor apartment and that the flames extended above. The fire was brought under control in about 12 minutes, AFR said.

Two separate homicide investigations launched by Albuquerque police

One person who had medical needs was treated and taken to a local hospital, AFR said.  No firefighters were injured in the incident.

The original apartment was heavily damaged, and there were some impacts to the outside balconies of the apartments above. People living in three apartments were displaced and are receiving help from the apartment complex management, according to AFR…
