Fairfax County police arrest more than a dozen alleged child predators in ‘Operation: Caught in the Web’

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) says it arrested more than a dozen alleged online child predators in an undercover operation they called “Operation: Caught in the Web.”

FCPD said 16 men between the ages of 20 and 65 were arrested and charged in the operation, which took place between May and June. The suspects arrived or arranged to arrive in Fairfax County to commit sexual acts with minors, only to be met by FCPD detectives, the department said.

One of the men charged, Benjamin Heyman, of Herndon, Va., is already a registered sex offender in Virginia. Police said they found him in possession of “large amounts of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) during a subsequent search warrant.”
