In a concerted crackdown on illicit drug operations in Boston, law enforcement officers from the Drug Control Units of District C-11 (Dorchester) and C-6 (South Boston) executed search warrants that resulted in the detainment of three individuals on Monday, as Boston Police reported. The sting, which drew to a close at 135 E. Cottage Street in Dorchester, involved Ramon Pinnick, 34, Celso Depina, 37, and Andry Materano, 25, all facing various drug-related accusations.
Surveillance operations by officers outside the E. Cottage Street location were driven by persistent grievances from the community, sightings were made of known drug consumers who interacted briefly with someone through a patio window and left, suggesting narcotics transactions, the observations continued over a span of weeks, and eventually an undercover operation was conducted affirming suspicions that the actual suspect was inside the structure. A nearby parked vehicle with its driver momentarily stepping out to the porch before returning and parking it in the driveway caught officers’ attention. The target suspect was eventually seen departing the premises on an electric scooter, which was when Pinnick was stopped and informed about the search warrants pending against him.
As officials moved to execute the warrants, Depina made an unsuccessful attempt to drive away in the vehicle, and upon his exit from the vehicle, officers saw evidence in plain sight: crack cocaine among other contraband items, such as a stack of U.S. currency and an open beer bottle, leading to the discovery of further narcotics and cash after a search was carried out; Depina, without a valid license, was slapped with charges that included trafficking, as per the Boston Police report…
