Fatal Police Shooting in Saginaw Bank Standoff as Faygo Pop Used in Novel Tactic to Lure Detroit Suspect

In a recent confrontation at Mercantile Bank in Saginaw Township, police used a novel tactic involving a bottle of Faygo Red Pop to lure a suspect from the building, leading to a fatal police shooting. As reported by Audacy’s WWJ Newsradio, the incident occurred last Friday when a bank employee was taken hostage by 31-year-old Quinton Marquese Allen.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) revealed that they were able to draw Allen into their line of sight by using a drone to lower a bottle of Faygo pop to him. As he exposed himself to take the bait, officers saw their opportunity through the glass to decisively act. In an effort to swiftly resolve the situation, a state trooper fired a shot that resulted in Allen’s death. MSP Lt.
