New state tax on cigarettes in Indiana has smoke shops concerned

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – For many years, Indiana’s cigarette tax was relatively low compared to neighboring states.

But that changed late last Thursday when lawmakers, in a last-minute push, approved a two-dollar per pack increase.
