Crime Stoppers: Help solve a cold case homicide out of Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — This week on Crime Stoppers, police need your help with solving the cold-case homicide of 34-year-old Michelle Packard, who was shot and killed on July 4, 2012.

Almost 13 years ago, on July 4, she was watching the fireworks show at Adado Riverfront Park, when she appeared to have a seizure. After reaching the hospital, though, it was discovered Michelle had been shot.

However, after she was taken to the hospital, it was discovered that she had been shot, and she died due to her injuries. Police believe she was most likely struck by a bullet shot into the air by someone celebrating Independence Day. She was an organ donor.

Michelle and her fiancé, John-Wesley Thomas, were engaged and set to marry in June 2013. Her fiancé had a daughter, one Michelle treated as her own…
