Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced charges against over 40 individuals involved in recent immigration protests, including a teenager charged with attempted murder and two adults accused of assaulting law enforcement horses. The protests were sparked by federal immigration raids following President Trump’s directive to detain and deport undocumented immigrants.
The protests resulted in significant unrest, costing the city more than $32 million in damages and police overtime. Among those charged is a 17-year-old accused of attempted murder, assault on a peace officer, and misdemeanor rioting. The teen’s identity remains undisclosed due to their age.
