As summer heats up, new data from the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting reveals a startling truth: nearly 95% of recreational water facilities in Louisville—including pools, hot tubs, and spray pads—failed at least one health inspection over the past year.
The numbers come from the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, which conducted inspections on 515 facilities between June 1, 2024, and June 1, 2025.
