Officers find straws and spoons with fentanyl residue in woman’s backpack

A Summerfield woman was arrested after officers found straws, spoons and a pipe with fentanyl residue in her backpack.

An officer observed a red Ford Focus with white light coming from the taillights around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He stopped the vehicle near County Road 25 and Smitty Road. As he spoke to the driver, the passenger, later identified as 35-year-old Jessica Ann Wicker, refused to give her name and date of birth.

The officer then asked for consent to search the vehicle. The driver said yes, but Wicker did not. A K-9 unit still responded to the scene while both occupants were removed from the vehicle, the report said.

Wicker got out wearing a small cross-shoulder backpack, and she was told to leave it in the car for officer safety concerns. The K-9 then sniffed around the outside of the vehicle and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics within. A search of the vehicle ensued, including the backpack, the report said…
