Sarasota woman waiting on $60,000 IRS refund after year of delays

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tricia Bolds is frustrated after waiting a year for a $60,000 refund from the Internal Revenue Service, especially since the IRS sent her a letter notifying her that the check was already sent.

Bolds received a letter from the IRS last year confirming that she had overpaid taxes when she sold her pet supply business in 2021. The agency said she was owed a refund of $48,941 and advised that a check would arrive within six to eight weeks.
