CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Making sure people and their families are prepared in the event of an emergency – that’s the goal of the University of Iowa’s Disaster PrepWise program. Now, two new AmeriCorps members in eastern Iowa are helping to carry it out despite federal funding cuts earlier this year.
“This is a program that’s focused on older individuals and allows them to receive assistance in creating an emergency plan,” said Linn County Emergency Management Plans & Exercise Officer Heather Tripp.
