AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with Teamsters Local 577 announced that it has reached a tentative deal with Tyson Foods following negotiations for higher wages and improved benefits for 3,100 workers at the facility.
On June 26, employees with Tyson Foods took a vote to authorize a strike should negotiations fall through with Tyson Foods. The vote was authorized with a 98% margin.
Teamsters authorize strike at Tyson Foods amid wages, benefits negotiations
According to contract highlights from Teamsters Local 577 the four-year agreement shows:
- Wage increases:
- Year one would increase wages by $4 with retro pay for hours wokred after expiaration of prior contract.
- Production Heavy skills: $5 increase at ratification
- Maintennace levels 7 and up: $4.50 increase at raitification
- Year two would increase wages by another 50 cents
- Year three by 70 cents
- Year four by 90 cents
- Year one would increase wages by $4 with retro pay for hours wokred after expiaration of prior contract.
- Ratification Incentive Bonus:
- Between 90 days and one year – $250
- Between one year and four years – $500
- Between 5 years and 10 years – $750
- Greater than 10 years – $1,000
- Floating holiday in place of summer holiday after 2026 anniversary date
- An enhanced 401K for eligible team members starting Jan. 1, 2026
- Annual to $200 tool allowance for PBX Mechanics
- Regular, full-time paid for jury duty regardless of court stipened
- Bereavement leave
- Vacation days
- 6 month anniversary – one week
- First year anniversary – one week
- Third year anniversary – two weeks
- 10th anniversary – four weeks
- Health and welfare with benefits starting on the first day of regular full-time employment.
