VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — The Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) successfully found homes for 101 cats and kittens over a three-day period, following an emergency intake of more than 50 cats discovered living in a single RV.
The shelter, already operating at 186% capacity due to a busy Kitten Season, was overwhelmed by the community’s response.
“We were wonderfully overwhelmed by the outpouring of support,” said Sam Ellingson, Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing at HSSW. “In just three days, 101 cats and kittens found new homes and more than sixty families signed up to foster. The response has been truly exceptional.”
